1. Allow stain to cure for 3-5 days before applying finish coat.
2. Do not use steel wool between coats of latex polyurethane or clear acrylic finish as the mixture of water and steel will form rust.

Materials you will need:

#1 Prepare new wood for staining
|
|
- Lightly sand wood to open grain
- Apply wood conditioner
|
|
- Extra fine sandpaper
- Wood conditioner
- Gloves
- Drop cloth
|
|

#2 Apply new finish
|
|
- Test stain color on hidden section
- Apply stain with foam, bristle brush or cheese cloth
- Wipe off excess stain and allow to dry
- Apply second coat for even color

- Interior stain or tung oil
- Foam or bristle brush
- Cheese cloth
|
|
|
# 3 Apply Finish Coat
|
|
- Brush on polyurethane or clear acrylic
- Allow to dry overnight
- Buff lightly with fine steel wool/fine sandpaper
- Apply at least one more coat
- Clean up
